Yesterday, it was the words
you couldn’t take back.
Today, it’s everything
you’re still refusing to say.
And you call it “communication issues.”
No.
It’s avoidance.
Relationships don’t fall apart
because people speak too much.
They fall apart
because you trained yourself
to disappear under the mask
every time something mattered.
You called silence
“keeping the peace.”
You called self-erasure
“being mature.”
But silence isn’t neutral.
It’s self-betrayal repeated long enough
to look like stability.
And you still call it real
because nothing was said out loud.
But nothing being said
was the problem.
Anger didn’t create the chaos.
It exposed what you kept hidden.
The mask just ran out of strength.
