Most people think the evaluation is where the work happens.

It isn't.

Most came in to work on their issues.
Some came in for the secondary benefits.
Some came in because someone made them.
Some came in to escape a criminal accusation.

My job wasn't to believe the story. It was to find out what was underneath it.

I start from what they say and want.
Not always what they really need.

The ones who couldn't progress were never the ones who felt too much.

They were the ones who lied or couldn't see their part in any of it.
Every story had a villain.
It was never them.
